The series will kick off on Friday, June 20, at 7 pm with Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder performing at Nash Chapel on the KCU campus. A native of nearby Cordell in Lawrence County, Kentucky, Skaggs has enjoyed a remarkable career spanning over 50 years. He has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1982 and over the last decade has been honored with inductions into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the Musicians Hall of Fame. In 2018, a landmark year, Skaggs was also awarded membership into the National Fiddler Hall of Fame, the IBMA Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and country music’s greatest honor, the Country Music Hall of Fame. Most recently, he was awarded the prestigious National Medal of Arts in 2020 for his contributions to the American music industry. Tickets for this will be available on this page beginning April 1.
