Position Description: Position: Church Pastor for Tuckahoe Christian Church

Education & Experience: No minimum education requirements.  Church board members are willing to overlook any education experience, if the right candidate has pastoral experience and extreme knowledge of the gospel to lead our church (approx. 40 attendees/week).

The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who loves Christ, His people and is willing to help grow our church.  Tuckahoe Church has a strong foundation in traditional values and is rich in history.  We desire a pastor who is willing to keep within traditions while incorporating modern church culture to reach our younger generation and help diversify our church family.

Accountability:  The Pastor is accountable to our Church Board.

Location:  6212 NC Highway 41 west Trenton, NC, is located in the heart of Jones County.  Although it is a rural area, the church is in Eastern North Carolina and is approximately one hour from 2 different beaches. If you like hunting and nature you will love where our community is nestled.  We are only about 30 miles from Jacksonville, which is home to the Marine Base Camp Lejeune. We are also approximately 30 miles from the beautiful town of New Bern, home of Pepsi. The city of Kinston is also about 30 miles away which will be the home of the Down East Bird Dawgs in 2025, an expansion baseball team in the Frontier League, an MLB Partner League.

Major Responsibilities:

Weekly Sunday Morning messages
Fellowship night participation (once/month)
Hospital ministry to members of the congregation
Oversight of the Children’s Ministry
Men’s Fundraiser Breakfast
Annual Church Bazaar which is held in November each year
Community Outreach
Be involved in other church activities

Sunrise Service
Homecoming
Holiday Dinners
Valentine’s Dinner
Vacation Bible School

Salary: Ideally the candidate would be bi-vocational as we have been paying a part-time salary. The church board is aware that all ministries are full-time and there could be some negotiations with the right person.
