Position Description: New Lisbon Christian Church is seeking a passionate and dedicated Next-Gen Minister/Director to oversee ministry from birth through 12th grade. This full-time position
provides a unique opportunity to disciple the next generation, equip families, and build thriving children’s and student ministries.
Position Overview:
The Next-Gen Minister/Director will lead and develop ministry efforts for children, students, and their families. This includes overseeing Sunday morning children’s programming, student ministry gatherings, special events, summer trips, and family discipleship efforts. The role requires strong leadership, relational skills, and a heart for seeing young people grow in their faith. This person will report to the Senior Minister and work alongside a team of volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
Children’s Ministry “Journey Kids” (Kindergarten-5th Grade):
Lead the Children’s Ministry Team to create vision, plan events, and execute strategies to grow the ministry’s reach and effectiveness.
Oversee Sunday morning programming, including coordinating with children’s ministry volunteers.
Prepare and implement the Orange Curriculum, ensuring engaging and biblically sound teaching.
Plan children’s ministry events, such as parent’s night out, family events, and seasonal celebrations. Help plan activities for children at church-wide events like the fall kickoff.
Partner with parents, equipping them to disciple their children at home.
Student Ministry “Impact Student Ministry” (6th-12th Grade):
Lead the Student Ministry Team to create vision, plan events, and execute strategies to grow the ministry’s reach and effectiveness.
Pastor and mentor middle and high school students, fostering spiritual growth.
Plan and lead Sunday evening gatherings, creating an exciting and engaging experience for students.
Coordinate summer trips, including CIY MOVE and MIX.
Oversee student ministry volunteers, providing training and support.
General Leadership & Oversight:
Lead and develop the Children’s and Student Ministry teams (volunteers and leaders).
Attend students’ school, athletic, and extracurricular events, building relationships beyond the church walls.
Create a culture of excitement and engagement, where young people feel connected and empowered in their faith.
Maintain flexible office hours to balance ministry responsibilities effectively.
Qualifications:
A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a calling to next-gen ministry.
Experience working with children, students, and families in a ministry setting.
Ability to lead and equip volunteers in both children’s and student ministry.
Strong communication, organizational, and relational skills.
A commitment to biblical teaching and discipleship.
Compensation & Benefits:
Full-time position with flexible office hours.
Salary and benefits will be negotiated based on experience and education.
