Welcome to KCU’s School of Social Work and Behavioral Health
I am very excited that you are visiting our page and want to share a few things with you. Our School has two outstanding programs.
Bachelor Of Science In Counseling Psychology
The Bachelor of Counseling Psychology prepares the student as an entry level social service worker, but the main emphasis is preparation for graduate studies. Some of the graduates from the Counseling Psychology program have been admitted directly into doctoral programs after graduating with their Bachelor’s degree.
Bachelor Of Social Work (BSW)
The Bachelor of Social Work prepares students as entry level Social Workers and also prepares them for graduate studies. KCU’s Social Work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. This important accreditation means that a graduate from KCU’s BSW program can take the Bachelor’s level license exam in any state that offers licensure at that level. Also, when applying for Master of Social Work programs, our graduates are eligible to apply for Advanced Standing, which means that potentially the BSW graduate could finish a traditional two year MSW in as little as one year if she/he meets the GPA and other academic admission requirements. A very high percent of our BSW graduates who apply for Advanced Standing are admitted.

Prepared for the World
“KCU was more than a University, it was also a home for me. Professors didn’t just worry about my grades, but they knew about my life, provided counsel, encouraged me, and pushed me to grow. I felt that my education for ministry was amazing and really helped prepare me for ministry. A lot of my spiritual mentors have come out of KCU and also some lifelong friendships with fellow students. KCU might not be the biggest school, but it has one of the biggest hearts.”
