KCU’s Teaching And Learning Pathway:
- Is designed for High School students who want to become teachers
- Provides dual credit courses to high school students that serve as a pathway into a teacher education program
KCU’s Teaching and Learning Pathway Will:
- Provide a balance of scholarly and clinical experiences that emphasize reflective practice
- Create authentic experiences that engage students in effective educator practices
- Create knowledge, skills, and dispositions of effective educators
- Engage rising educators as participants in the statewide community of educators
- Provide online asynchronous instruction as dual credit
- Partner with local school districts to best develop individual plans of teacher
Preparation Education and Clinical Experience:
- Provide college course advising to high school students
- Provide college readiness indicators
- Possibly shorten the length of college attendance
- Provide scholarship opportunities for those completing the program
