Kentucky Christian University Extends Its Deepest Condolences to Western Kentucky University

 

Grayson, Ky. — Kentucky Christian University (KCU) extends its deepest condolences to Western Kentucky University (WKU), its bass fishing team, and especially to the family of Johnathon Brian, a Kentucky college student who tragically lost his life in a boating accident during a fishing tournament.

The incident occurred on last Thursday during the Bass Master College Series event at Lake Murray. According to organizers, the crash involved two boats belonging to Western Kentucky University and another out of state competitor. Jonathan Brian, 21, from Shelbyville, Kentucky, was a valued member of the Western Kentucky Bass Fishing Team.

President Terry Allcorn of Kentucky Christian University expressed his heartfelt sympathies, stating, “On behalf of the KCU Bass Fishing team and the entire KCU community, I’d like to offer our condolences to the family of the student who lost his life and prayers for those who were injured.” Coach Gene Nornhold added, “As fishermen, we face every situation on the water, and this is just a very unfortunate incident. Our team wants to extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Johnathon Brian and his teammates at Western Kentucky University. Our prayers and thoughts will be with you all.”

The loss of a young life is always a tragedy, and the KCU community stands in solidarity with WKU during this difficult time. The bond between collegiate fishing teams is strong, and the KCU Bass Fishing team mourns the loss of a fellow angler and offers support to their counterparts at WKU.
