Valley Mills Worship Internship
To partner with colleges in providing internship positions as a part of the student’s degree requirements.
To provide an opportunity for non-college student the ability to learn hands-on ministry training through Valley Mills.
To enable Valley Mills to benefit from the help given by the intern in a growing church.
Goals of Internship
Nurture Personal Spirituality: The inner life of the intern must be developing during the internship experience. Spiritual formation is foundational for ministry
Developing Relational Skills: The experiential learning provided by the internship will enhance the opportunities for the student to develop his/her relational skill with guidance from a mentor.
Reflecting Theology: The intern will be assisted in theological reflection upon the ministry events which he/she experiences in the ministry setting.
Learning Through Relationships: Personal relationships will provide learning experiences as well as support for the intern.
Learning Worship Ministry Through Preparation, planning & implementing of Worship services: Participation in the researching, planning, implementation, and evaluation phases of worship services will provide opportunities for integration of classroom learning and ministry. This learning will take place in Administration, Music, Technology, and Visual Arts.
Staff Relationship & Responsibilities
The intern’s principle function is to assist the Worship Department.
A: Preparation, Planning & Implementing
Assist in implementing Worship services through preparation & planning, in the office, at rehearsals, at meetings, and as necessary, at off-site offices.
Assist with weekend Worship services through participating in various positions of the Worship department, as their talents & gifts are compatible.
Take on further responsibilities as required and/or as skills and talents necessitate.
Research—learn to use the tools of the websites used to enhance Worship ministry.
Assist Office personnel with mailings & communication & organization of Worship department.
Attend bi-monthly calendar meetings.
Attend bi-monthly creative planning brainstorming meetings.
Attend weekly All-staff meetings.
Attend other meetings as deemed necessary
Assist with special activities (such as conferences, banquets, trainings, etc.)
Develop relationships with worship volunteers.
As assigned or as needed, contact volunteers with prayer requests, encouragement cards, etc.

Our goal is to encourage and equip the next generation of children’s ministry leaders to handle every aspect of running a children’s ministry at a mega church with confidence, purpose and excellence. Interns will assist and observe in planning, executing, and evaluating weekend children’s ministry programming and special events. This will include developing calendars, curriculum, and events throughout the year with an veteran team of children's ministry leaders. Interns will also enjoy quarterly leadership training for children’s ministry volunteers and leaders.
